Goal-scoring Pogba proves to be Man Utd's lucky charm image

Paul Pogba is proving himself to be somewhat of a lucky charm for Manchester United after the Red Devils overcame Arsenal in a hard-fought win at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Despite finding himself under intense scrutiny at the club this season, the France international demonstrated his worth to the team with a goal in their 2-1 victory over the Gunners.

And, in actual fact, it turns out that when Pogba scores it's very good news for the Red Devils, because they tend to come out on top in those particular games.

Indeed, United have won all 10 of the Premier League matches that the 25-year-old has scored in, something that will perhaps be of interest to Jose Mourinho as he ponders team selection in future.

Pogba's 16th-minute strike against Arsenal was his sixth league goal of the current campaign, having previously scored in games against West Ham, Swansea, Newcastle United and Manchester City.

Arsene Wenger's side hit back through former Red Devil Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but substitute Marouane Fellaini scored in the dying moments to secure three points for Mourinho's men.

As well as scoring six goals this season, Pogba hit the back of the net five times last term on his return to Old Trafford, putting Leicester, Swansea, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough to the sword.

Interestingly, the midfielder's positive influence began during his time in Italy with Juventus and he has now ended on the winning side in the last 18 league games he has scored in.

Prior to re-joining United, the Frenchman had been victorious in the eight Serie A games he scored in and he has clearly carried that good fortune back to England with him.

With just three league games to go against Brighton, West Ham and Watford, as well as an FA Cup final date with Chelsea, United fans will hope that Pogba can continue being their chief mascot.
