Harry Kane didn’t score a goal Sunday for Tottenham but it certainly wasn’t for lack of trying.
The Spurs attacker took eight shots in his side’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea at Wembley Stadium, which was a career-high mark for the striker without scoring a goal.
Spurs 10/1 to win the Premier League
Kane came close, striking the post in the first half, but his lack of scoring in the month of August continued. He also had a penalty shout denied as Marcos Alonso’s brace gave the Blues the victory in the London derby.

In fact, Kane has now had 34 shots and played 12 games in the month of August without scoring in the Premier League.
The lack of goals also means Kane remains stuck on 99 in his Spurs career having reached that mark last May when he scored seven goals in the final two contests of the Premier League campaign.
Kane will get one more chance this year to break his August duck when Tottenham host Burnley next Sunday.
