Crystal Palace are readying an opening offer for Sporting CP winger Marcus Edwards, but according to Football Insider Tottenham are also "keeping tabs" on the player's situation.
Palace are in the market for a right-sided forward this summer, with Michael Olise choosing to join Bayern Munich, and have identified Edwards as an option to replace the Frenchman.
The 25-year-old former Spurs and Norwich man is believed to be considering a return to the Premier League this summer, despite having two years remaining on his contract with Sporting.
He seems to have fallen out of favor in Portugal after an injury plagued season for Sporting, scoring six goals in 44 appearances across all competitions.
However, Spurs could challenge Palace's bid for Edwards, as they have apparently requested to be kept in the loop regarding his situation.
Tottenham are thought to be interested in bringing back their former academy graduate, and are understood to retain a 35 per cent sell-on clause, which could make a deal much cheaper.
In June, Portuguese news outlet Record claimed that Edwards is particularly enthused by the prospect of returning to North London and was less excited by moving to the south of the capital to play for Palace.
