Chelsea team news: Batshuayi & Caballero start, Barkley makes the bench image

Michy Batshuayi has been named as Chelsea's starting centre-forward for the club's clash with Brighton, while Ross Barkley makes the bench for the first time with his new club.

Alvaro Morata and Pedro were both sent off in mid-week FA Cup replay against Norwich City which lasted 120 minutes as Chelsea drew 1-1, before winning 5-3 on penalties.

Thibaut Courtois has added to a host of other injury worries after suffering a minor problem in his ankle. Danny Drinkwater also has a minor injury from the Norwich game and was forced off in extra time.

Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas are both out with hamstring problems. Kenedy was also subbed off in midweek and may be carrying a minor muscular injury.

Chelsea are playing three players that completed 120 minutes on Wednesday night and Antonio Conte has complained about the fixtures scheduling ahead of this match.

Chelsea starting XI: Caballero; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; Moses, Bakayoko, Kante, Alonso; Willian, Batshuayi, Hazard. Subs: Eduardo, David Luiz, Zappacosta, Sterling, Ampadu, Barkley, Musonda.
