Chelsea are on the verge of making yet another significant addition to their squad, having agreed on a deal worth up to £54 million to sign Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The move comes after Chelsea missed out on Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise earlier this summer, who chose to join Bayern Munich instead.
Pedro Neto, the 24-year-old Portuguese forward, is expected to undergo his medical in London within the next 24 hours.
Chelsea’s bid, which includes an initial £51 million ($64.9m) plus potential add-ons, was accepted by Wolves on Friday. Neto has been a key target for Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who sees the versatile winger as a perfect fit for both flanks.

Neto's journey to Chelsea hasn’t been straightforward. Despite being sidelined for much of last season with hamstring and knee injuries, he still managed to contribute three goals and 11 assists in just 20 appearances. His performances caught the eye of several clubs, including Tottenham, but it is Chelsea who have managed to secure his signature. The deal will make Neto Chelsea’s ninth signing of the summer.

Chelsea’s busy transfer window
In addition to Neto, Chelsea are also closing in on the signing of 20-year-old striker Samu Omorodion from Atlético Madrid. Omorodion, who is currently part of Spain’s Olympic squad, is expected to join Chelsea in a deal worth £34.5 million ($43.9m).
The young striker’s arrival is part of a broader strategy to bolster Chelsea’s attacking options, with the potential departure of midfielder Conor Gallagher to Atlético for £36 million ($45.8m) as part of the negotiations.
This summer has been one of intense activity for Chelsea, with several new players arriving at Stamford Bridge. Alongside Neto, Chelsea have signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jörgensen, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu, and Tosin Adarabioyo.
The club is also preparing for potential departures, with defender Trevoh Chalobah being made available for transfer. Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in Chalobah, especially if Marc Guéhi leaves for Newcastle.
Pedro Neto’s contract with Chelsea is expected to run until June 2030, with an option for an additional season. Chelsea believes that Neto’s flexibility and talent will add much-needed quality to their squad as they aim for success in the upcoming season.
