Cole Palmer was the key success story from a difficult 2023/24 Premier League season for Chelsea fans.
High hopes over Mauricio Pochettino securing a trophy faded at the start of 2024 and the Argentinian coach was eventually allowed to leave the club at the end of the campaign.
A late rally in the final weeks of the season saw the Blues clinch a UEFA Europa League spot, but they missed out on their key goal of Champions League qualification. However, despite the frustration, Palmer was a shining light for Pochettino, after opting to leave boyhood club Manchester City last summer.
Despite being highly rated prior to arriving in the capital, no Blues fan expected his impact to be so immediate and consistent, with an incredible 22 Premier League goals.
That tally was only bettered by his old City teammate Erling Haaland (with 27) as his 'Cold Palmer' alter ego thrived under pressure of being Chelsea's talisman.
His gametime was limited as an impact substitute for England at Euro 2024, but his quality shone through, with a superb equalizer off the bench as Gareth Southgate's side lost out to Spain in the final.

Chelsea ready to open Palmer contract talks
Palmer's current Chelsea contract runs until 2030, as part of the club's controversial policy on long term deals, but as per the Daily Telegraph, they are already looking to offer him improved terms.
The 22-year-old reportedly earns around £80,000 ($103,000) per week, which puts him in the lower half of the salary bracket in Chelsea's first team.
The contract change is rumored to involve "incremental wage rises to better reflect his importance and performances", as the Blues aim to secure his future for many years.
