Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes is set to extend his stay at the club with a new contract, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Fernandes' new deal will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2027, with the option for an additional year.
The contract is set to see Fernandes' salary increase significantly, aligning him with Manchester United's highest earners.
This development puts an end to speculation about Fernandes potentially leaving Old Trafford. Despite United's disappointing eighth-place finish in the 2023/24 Premier League season, Fernandes ended the campaign on a high note with an FA Cup victory.
Reports earlier in the summer had suggested that Fernandes' agent, Miguel Pinho, had met with Bayern Munich representatives regarding a possible transfer. However, Fernandes' new contract has put any rumors of a departure to bed.

Man United's top earners
Currently, Fernandes has two years remaining on his 2022 contract, which pays him approximately £240,000 per week.
His upcoming contract is expected to surpass this figure, bringing him in line with top earners like Jadon Sancho, Casemiro, and Marcus Rashford.
Rashford, United's highest-paid player, earns around £360,000 weekly, while Casemiro and Sancho earn £350,000 and £300,000 per week.

Fernandes: I want to keep fighting here
Fernandes had previously expressed his commitment to United in a piece he wrote for The Player's Tribune prior to the cup final. He said: "I love to step out at Old Trafford more than anything in the world. I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream.
He added: "I just want my expectations to fit with the expectations of the club. If you go talk to any fan, they will tell you the same thing. We want to compete for the league. We want to be playing Champions League football. We want to be in cup finals. That is the standard. That is what I want. That is what you all deserve.
"I just want to keep fighting. I want to be here. My family wants to be here."
Since joining United in January 2020 from Sporting CP, Fernandes has become a fan favorite, with over 230 appearances, 79 goals, and 66 assists. He was appointed club captain in July 2023, succeeding Harry Maguire.
