Arsenal are ready to reject a late transfer offer from Turkish giants Galatasaray for midfield star Jorginho.

With the Premier League transfer window slamming shut on August 30, Arsenal are unable to sign any new players who are not free agents, but they can still make sales.

The Turkish Super Lig window is one of the few still open, until September 13, with a host of EPL stars linked with a move to Turkey before the deadline.

Manchester United veteran Casemiro leads the list of Galatasaray's rumoured options but the Red Devils are expected to retain him until at least January.

That has reportedly opened the door to interest in Jorginho, but Talksport have claimed Mikel Arteta will not sell the Italian international, due to his squad importance at the Emirates Stadium.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, but the club have an option to extend by 12 months, and his experienced will be utilised by Arteta in the coming months.

Arteta has consistently relied on Jorginho in high-pressure matches, and he is in line for first EPL appearance of the season this weekend, as a replacement for the suspended Declan Rice at Tottenham on September 15.
