The world of football just got a little brighter for Argentina fans, as Lionel Messi is fit and ready to return to action for his country.
The 37-year-old superstar is all set to play in Argentina’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Bolivia after a three-month break due to an ankle injury. The GOAT is back in the blue and white stripes, and fans couldn’t be happier.
However, for Liverpool supporters, there’s some worry on the horizon. Alexis Mac Allister, the key midfielder for both Liverpool and Argentina, might not make the first game.
He picked up an injury issue during Liverpool’s match against Crystal Palace, and Argentina’s manager Lionel Scaloni isn’t sure if he will recover in time. “He is training separately... it’s difficult for him to make it today,” said Scaloni, hinting that Mac Allister may need more time on the sidelines.
The Argentina boss further added saying: "But it's difficult for him to make it today. I think we have to take care of him. He's a guy who has a lot of games under his belt and that's the situation today. We hope we don't lose any more players because the situation can change later."

Messi’s return: A big boost for Argentina
After missing Argentina’s last match – a 2-1 loss to Colombia – Messi’s return is exactly what the team needs. Even though their place in the 2026 World Cup seems safe, losing a legend like Messi had left a hole in their lineup.
Scaloni confirmed Messi’s readiness, stating, “Leo is fine. He is fit and will be part of the team.” His performance at Inter Miami has been top-notch, with five goals in six games, proving that age is just a number.
As for Mac Allister, it’s a waiting game. Liverpool fans might want him rested, but Argentina will be hoping for a speedy recovery so he can get some minutes for the World Cup qualifiers games.
