The 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) continued for another week at Bally’s / Paris on the Las Vegas Strip with more coveted WSOP gold bracelets awarded.. Let’s take a look at who those winners are and what they won this week at the 2022 WSOP.

Brian Hastings Wins 6th WSOP Bracelet in 2-7 Triple Draw

Entering the final day of Event #31: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Championship, eyes were on Phil Hellmuth as he made a run at winning his 16th WSOP bracelet. Once Hellmuth was eliminated in eighth place, attention was turned to several players looking to add to their bracelet collection.

Shaun Deeb, Dan Zack, Marco Johnson, and Brian Hastings had all won WSOP gold previously, but Eric Wasserson and Jordan Siegel were looking to claim their first. Wasserson entered the final table as chip leader but his run ended in second place when he was defeated by Brian Hastings who won his sixth WSOP bracelet and $292,146 in prize money for topping the 118-entrant field.

Steve Albini Wins $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. for $196,089

The always popular Event #32: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. attracted a total of 773 entrants as the likes of Jeff Lisandro, Barry Greenstein, John Monnette, Mike Matusow, Ari Engel, and Phil Ivey all finished in-the-money.

David Williams was eliminated on the final table bubble, but it would be Steve Albini winning his second WSOP bracelet and $196,089 in prize money. Albini - who is a part-time poker player - is known for being a record producer and audio engineer having worked with music groups such as Nirvana and Jimmy Page.

Aleksejs Ponakovs Denies Phil Ivey in $100k High Roller

The Event #42: $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller would see 62 entrants create a prize pool just shy of $6 million. The tournament flew at a rapid pace with the final table playing out a day early.

Phil Ivey was chasing his 11th WSOP bracelet as $1.9 million awaited the winner of Event #42. Ivey would reach heads-up play with Latvian Aleksejs Ponakovs who was hoping to win a second WSOP bracelet.

Unfortunately for Ivey, his run would end in second place, and Ponakovs would be crowned the $100k High Roller champion and pocket $1,897,363 in prize money.

Dan Zack Continues 23-Year WSOP Streak with 2nd Win of Series

Having won his second WSOP bracelet early in the series in Event #15: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo Championship, Zack earned more WSOP gold when he won Event #40: $10,000 Stud Hi-Lo Championship.

Zack defeated David Funkhouser to win $324,174 in prize money and his third WSOP bracelet. Zack also continued a WSOP streak that dates back to 2000 of a player winning at least two WSOP bracelets within a year.

Throughout the history of the WSOP, there have been 59 occurrences of a player winning multiple bracelets, and it has occurred in 36 of the 53 years that the WSOP has run.

Pedro Bromfman Wins Gold on Father’s Day Weekend

Brazilian music producer Pedro Bromfman plays a very limited poker tournament schedule that is centered squarely on 2-7 lowball.

During Father’s Day weekend, Event #38: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw Championship played out and Bromfman was one of the 121 entrants in the field. Bromfman held the chip lead to start the final table that included Eli Elezra, Cary Katz, Scott Seiver, Yuri Dzivielevski, Alex Livingston, and defending champion Farzad Bonyadi.

Seiver was chasing a second WSOP bracelet of the series, but he would lose heads-up to Bromfman who won his first bracelet and was excited to share it with his kids once he ventured home the next day.

Other WSOP Winners Include Pechie, Eslami, and Kolev

Those listed above weren’t the only WSOP winners from the last week, as plenty of players picked up gold bracelets.

Three final tables played out on Sunday as Justin Pechie won his second WSOP bracelet in Event #34: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout. Lok Chan and Ali Eslami each won their first bracelets in Event #35: $2,500 Mixed Big Bet and Event #36: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo, respectively.

One of the biggest events of the week was the Event #37: $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER which was won by Bulgarian Yuliyan Kolev for his second WSOP bracelet and $1,125,141 in prize money.

Other winners included Fabian Brandes in Event #39: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed, Ramsey Stovall in Event #41: $1,000 Super Turbo Bounty Freezeout, and David Perry in Event #43: $500 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout.
