World Athletics Championships 2022 results: Updated list of winners for every track & field event at Oregon22 image

The World Athletics Championships are back after an extended absence, and for the first time, they will be held in the United States.

Historically, the championships take place in odd-numbered years, but the 2021 championships were pushed back to 2022 in response to the Tokyo Summer Olympics being delayed to 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Hayward Field, a track and field stadium at the University of Oregon, will be the host site for this year's championships. Doha, Qatar, hosted the championships in 2019 and Budapest, Hungary, is slated to host them in 2023.

The United States has the most gold, silver and bronze medals all time, with 170 golds and 381 total medals through the 17 previous editions of the championships.
