This year's Oscar trophies have not yet been handed to the winners, but some nominees have already made history.
"Killers of the Flower Moon" star Lily Gladstone is the first Native American woman to be nominated in the Best Actress category. Gladstone, who was raised on a Blackfeet reservation in Montana, already found success at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremonies, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see her on the stage at the Oscars.
Martin Scorsese, 81, became the most-nominated living director in Academy Awards history with his latest nomination, passing Steven Spielberg. He is also the oldest-ever nominee in the Best Director category.
