On Sunday, the 39th edition of the Los Angeles Marathon will take place, with the races starting early in the morning.
With over 25,000 runners participating in this year's marathon, some roads will be unavailable to use for residents of the city.
The course starts at Dodger Stadium and ends at Santa Monica Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars.
The runners will pass iconic LA landmarks, including Chinatown Dragon Gate, Los Angeles City Hall, Echo Park Lake, the Capitol Records Building, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the TCL Chinese Theatre, Rodeo Drive and Historic Route 66.
The race will be available to watch locally on KTLA and Fubo to stream. But for those in attendance, you will want to make sure you know where to go and which roads to avoid for the marathon.
Here's everything you need to know about the layout of the 2024 Los Angeles Marathon, including street impacts, course layout and expected times.
Los Angeles Marathon road closures 2024
The first street closures take place Saturday at 8 a.m. The Avenue of the Stars and Century Park East between Santa Monica and Constellation boulevards will be the first streets to close.
Santa Monica Boulevard also shuts down on Saturday at 9 p.m.
On Sunday's race day, the first street closure begins at 3 a.m. on Century Park East between Constellation and West Olympic boulevards. Several surrounding streets including Vin Scully Avenue, Sunset Boulevard, Cesar Chavez Avenue and Broadway will all close at 4 a.m.
As far as streets reopening, those nearest Dodger Stadium will begin to reopen at 9 a.m. Sunday. Vin Scully Avenue from Dodger Stadium to Sunset Boulevard will reopen then.
Most streets will reopen by 1 p.m. Sunday. The last streets to reopen at 8 p.m. on Sunday include the Avenue of the Stars and Century Park East near the finish line.

Los Angeles Marathon 2024 Course Map
The marathon begins at Dodger Stadium and takes you through an array of Los Angeles landmarks.
It's not terribly hilly, starting at around 600 feet of elevation and ending somewhere between 350-400 feet. It's a relatively flat course, never changing more than 300 feet in elevation through the entire 26.2 miles.

Los Angeles Marathon 2024 start time
Everything at Dodger Stadium, including the parking lot, gear check, and security checkpoints, will open at 3 a.m. PT.
The pro women's race will begin at 6:40 a.m. PT followed by the pro men's race 20 minutes later at 7 a.m. PT.
The broadcast will begin at 6 a.m. and finish at 11:30 a.m.
