Jason Day appeared to have lost nothing since winning the PGA Championship. With his first nine holes in Sunday's final round at The Barclays, Day was running away.
If he wins, Day could take over at No. 1 in FedEx Cup points. Jordan Spieth, leader entering the Cup's first event, failed to make the cut.

Three birdies pushed Day ahead of playing partner Sangmoon Bae, who dropped behind former Cup champ Henrik Stenson. Day was three up on Stenson as he made the turn. Stenson was three pairs ahead on the course.
Bubba Watson, leader after the first two days, was falling in his final round. Watson is third in FedEx Cup points. British Open champ Zach Johnson remained close to the leaders.
Bae, who is headed for a hitch in South Korea's military after the FedEx Cup, was 3 over after nine holes.
Away from the chase for the title, Sunday's highlight at The Barclays came from Brian Harman. On a day he struggled to stay about par for the round and the tournament, Harman hit a hole-in-one on No. 3 — and then another on No. 14.
Harman is only the third player to ace two holes in the final round of a PGA Tour event.
The FedEx Cup field will be reduced by 25, to 100, for next week's Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston, based on points. Another 30 will be cut after that for the BMW Championship at Lake Forest, Ill. The TOUR Championship completes the four-tourney schedule, beginning Sept. 24 at East Lake Golf Club near Atlanta.
