The world's greatest athletes are set to descend upon Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The Opening Ceremony signals the beginning of the Games, slated for Friday, July 26.
The event will take place on the Seine River and the Trocadero, adding a unique twist to the Paris Olympics. For the first time, the Opening Ceremony will not begin in a stadium, with athletes instead parading through Paris on the Seine.
Athletes will traverse the city on a 3.7-mile-long route, with the entire ceremony expected to last at least three hours.
Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, LeBron James, Sha'Carri Richardson, Novak Djokovic, and Rory McIlroy are among the most famous athletes primed for Paris.
