The final field of 12 has been set for the 2024 Olympic men's basketball tournament in Paris, which will officially tip off later this month. Team USA and Canada now have an understanding of which squads they will need to get through in their respective groups during their quests for gold medals.

In the meantime, both powerhouses have five exhibition games scheduled so each team can get more comfortable playing together. The first such Showcase game takes place in Las Vegas on Wednesday (10:30 p.m. ET, FS1, Fubo) and pits them against each other — U.S. vs. Canada — in the most star-studded friendly match of the summer.

The teams will then travel to Abu Dhabi and London for more exhibitions, then to Paris for the start of the Olympic games on July 27 and 28. It's a wild stretch of hoops, but both the Americans and Canadians have said they're ready to show up and show out for their respective countries.

Let's dive into the details of Wednesday's exhibition between Team USA and Team Canada, then make an official prediction for the game. We will then take a look at each team's roster and full Olympic schedule, as well as all 12 teams' odds to win gold.

Team USA vs. Canada Olympic exhibition in Las Vegas: Odds, spread & prediction

As of right Tuesday afternoon, no odds have been made available for this exhibition match in Vegas. Sportsbooks probably don't want to take on too much liability with a friendly USA Showcase match, especially so early in the summer when nobody quite knows what kind of usage certain stars will see.

The U.S. and Canada top the sportsbooks' odds to win the 2024 Olympics, so it stands to reason that neither USA head coach Steve Kerr nor Canadian coach Jordi Fernandez want to give away too much strategy weeks before the actual Olympic games begin. How these squads play Wednesday could very well differ from how they plan at the end of July and beginning of August.

That said, expect Team USA to still run the show. This team serves as one of the better rosters ever constructed in Olympic hoops, and the U.S. has a reputation to uphold with 16 gold medals including one for each of the past four summer games (Tokyo 2020, Rio 2016, London 2012, Beijing 2008). Once the Olympic field of 12 was set following the FIBA last-chance qualifiers, the USA opened as a massive -390 favorite to win it all once again.

This USA squad has the size to contend with big men like Serbia's Nikola Jokic and Greece's Giannis Antetokounmpo, perimeter defense and outside shooting to match those international focuses, and proven winners (with 16 combined NBA championships between the 12 players). Comparatively, Canada has very little size and just one player with an NBA championship ring — Jamal Murray — since Andrew Wiggins will not play this summer due to medical reasons.

USA checks every box, and it's tough to imagine this team losing even one game this summer. Even in a friendly exhibition game, this squad should come out on top thanks to size, sheer volume of talent on both ends of the floor, and incomparable depth. It will still be a fun watch because this might be the best Canadian team of all time — but Team USA should take care of business on Wednesday.

FINAL SCORE PREDICTION: USA 118, Canada 106
