Against all odds, Suni Lee is a two-time Olympian.

Just one year ago, while a sophomore at Auburn, the gymnast was diagnosed with two kidney diseases, halting her career. Doctors told Lee she might never be able to compete again. But knowing she wanted to go to Paris, Lee pushed through day by day. And as a result, she made the Olympics once again.

Lee is one of four U.S. gymnasts from Tokyo to return to a redemption tour. Lee, Jordan Chiles and Simone Biles won team silver in 2021, but because of COVID-19, their experience at the Games was less than perfect. They could hardly interact with fellow Olympians and didn't even compete in front of a crowd.

Now, alongside newcomer Hezly Rivera and Jade Carey, who competed in Tokyo as individuals, the U.S. women are back, going for gold in Paris.

The return to the Games is an extra special moment for Lee, the reigning all-around gold medalist.

Competition in Paris will be tight. Few are as prepared to fight through it as Lee. Here's how to watch the gymnast in every competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Suni Lee gymnastics schedule

The Olympic women's artistic gymnastics events will take place over the course of a week. All events will be streamed live on Peacock and broadcast on NBC, though the network will present the beam and floor finals on a tape delay.

What events will Suni Lee compete at the 2024 Olympics?

During the team competition, Lee is expected to compete on bars and beam.

She can also qualify to individual event finals during qualifications. To make the finals, a gymnast must score in the top eight on the event to advance. However, there is a two-per-country rule. Should Lee score in the top eight of all gymnasts but below two of her teammates during qualifications, she would not advance to that event's finals.

All-around finals take the top 24 gymnasts rather than top eight but still maintain the two-per-country rule.

Given Lee's expertise on bars and beam, she is mostly likely to qualify to those event finals. She's still the reigning all-around champion, though. The gymnast maintains she wants to prove herself and go for gold again, so it's likely she'll try to qualify for the all-around finals.
