Noah Lyles is back and representing his country in Paris at the 2024 Olympic Games, and he’s a big deal.
His 9.83 time during the men’s 100-meter final to qualify for Paris was something very few people, including himself, thought he could achieve.
Lyles, 26, realizes that his personality is unlike other athletes. He keeps to himself and has his superstitious ways about him, which makes him unique, according to a piece from NBC News detailing his career thus far.
Lyles will compete in several events during the Paris Olympics, including the 4x100 meter relay and possibly the 4x400 meter relay.
"I don’t feel the pressure because I’m just having fun,” Lyles said after the race in Oregon. “All I gotta do is be me. I constantly tell kids all the time, ‘Be yourself.’ And if people see me as being corny, shoot, I’m corny. But guess what? I’m winning while being corny.”

Lyles, like some of his fellow Americans, took home a bronze medal during his last Olympic Games in Tokyo. For participants on both the men's and women's side, he has a chance to claim glory.
Now, Lyles is out for redemption. Can his new outlook on life propel him into immense superstar status in the coming weeks?
