As the Paris Olympics get underway, Michael Phelps is surely a name that will be brought up during the broadcast of the swimming competitions.
While many miss the 23-time Olympic gold medalist plunging into the swimming pool for competition during the Summer Games, Phelps will be providing analysis and commentary—like he did in the Tokyo Olympics—as part of NBC’s coverage of this year’s event.
But aside from Phelps staying close to the sport he loves, he and his wife, Nicole, are enjoying their newest addition to the family, Nico Michael, who was born in January. The Phelps' house is now a party of six. A few weeks after Nico was born, Phelps shared a heartfelt post on how life has changed with the newest arrival.

The boys can’t get enough of their newest brother and want nothing more than to love on him, care for him (and mama) and just be near.I wasn’t sure what life would be like with a newbie and one more babe…. it’s like a puzzle piece we didn’t know was missing,” Phelps wrote in a post on Instagram in February.
What does Phelps’ family tree look like? Here's a record of its most notable parts after the family recently added a new bundle of joy.
Who is Michael Phelps' wife?
Phelps married Johnson on June 13, 2016, in Paradise Valley, Arizona. However, the 23-time Olympic gold medalist initially met his partner in 2007 at the ESPY Awards where she was working as an athlete escort for the iconic awards show. After two or three years of the couple dating off and on, the two got engaged in February 2015 and held three different ceremonies when they got married in 2016.
In June, Phelps and Johnson celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary. In addition to their union, the two have four sons: Boomer, Beckett Richard, Maverick Nicholas and most recently Nico Michael in January.
Johnson had a passion for modeling and pageants, something she started at age 17 as a way to earn a scholarship to attend the University of Southern California. She graduated from USC in 2007 with a degree in communications. Over the years, her experience with pageants led her to the national stage as she was crowned the 2010 Miss California USA and even notched a top-10 finish at the Miss USA Finals.
After being crowned Miss California USA, she began working as a recruiter and an ambassador for the pageant. She’s also worked several marketing communications and sales jobs that include Mercedes-Benz dealership. Currently, Johnson works alongside her husband as the ambassador of the Michael Phelps Foundation, a nonprofit that fosters physical and mental health, wellness and water safety. She has 449,000 followers on Instagram.
