It's hard enough for any swimmer in the world to get an edge on Katie Ledecky in the pool. It's going to be even harder for those in the United States.

Ledecky is an all-time great swimmer, with more Olympic and world championship medals than any women's swimmer in history. At 27, she's still going strong as one of the best in the world as she sets her sights on her fourth Olympics.

Before she can start planning her trip to Paris for the 2024 Summer Games, Ledecky first has to qualify. She is expected to compete in her usual four freestyle races: the 200, 400, 800 and 1500. She'll also almost certainly be part of the 4x200 relay should she desire to race in that event, as well.

The road to winning the medals in France begins with earning spots on the team in Indianapolis where she competed at Lucas Oil Stadium against the best American swimmers for the two spots available in each event.

Here's a look at how Ledecky performed at the 2024 USA Olympic swimming trials, including her full schedule for the nine-day trip to Indianapolis.

How many medals has Katie Ledecky won?

There aren't medals at the Olympic trials, but there is added pressure to place first or second in each event. Swimmers who finish in the top two spots in an event with an Olympic qualifying time are automatically entered into the Olympics.

Ledecky won every event in which she swam, meaning she can race in any of the distance freestyle events at the Olympics. She secured a spot on the 4x200 freestyle relay with the fastest time in the 200 freestyle. However, she noted she does not plan on swimming the individual 200 free event at the Olympics and will only compete in the relay.

Here's a breakdown of her performances in this year's Olympic trials:
