The United States gymnasts are gold medallists yet again.
Team USA enjoyed a dominant showing at the women's team competition on Tuesday afternoon in Paris to pick up the country's fifth gold medal. The group consisting of Jordan Chiles, Simone Biles, Suni Lee and Jade Carey all showed out, leading the Americans to a first-place finish.
While it was a special moment for all involved, it was an emotional afternoon for Chiles.
It's been a tumultuous Olympics career so far for the 23-year-old, dating back to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Despite the ups and downs, Chiles came through when the country needed her most, delivering a spectacular floor routine to lead the United States to a gold medal.
Here is more on Chiles' floor routine and her Olympics past.

Jordan Chiles floor routine and score
Chiles wowed her floor routine, putting the USA in an excellent position to finish atop the podium. The Oregon native scored 13.966 for the United States.
It was just short of a 14 but was better than her qualifying score.

Jordan Chiles fall
Chiles' initial performance did not get off to a great start when she fell off the balance beam. Despite the slip, she was able to recover and help the team win gold.

If it felt like it was a bit of a deja vu moment for American gymnastics fans, it's because it was.
Chiles stepped in to take Biles' place at the Tokyo Olympics when the USA superstar was forced out of the competition. While Chiles nailed her routines on the bars and beam, during the floor routine, her feet slipped out from under her causing her to fall.
The Americans already were playing catch-up to Russia, and ultimately were forced to settle for silver.

Why isn't Jordan Chiles competing in all-around event?
The United States is really good at gymnastics, but when it comes to selecting the participants in the all-around event, the USA being so elite at the discipline came back to bite it.
Chiles is not in the all-around event due to the Olympic rule that limits to just two participants per country. With her teammates Biles and Lee scoring better than her, those two will represent the red, white and blue in the event.
Chiles finished with a 56.065, which was good enough for fourth out of all of the Olympians, but she lost the eligibility to compete in the all-around competition by .067 points.
It's not the first time that the rule has been criticized. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Gabby Douglas missed out on the all-around competition despite placing third behind Aly Raisman and Biles.
