One of NBC's mainstays at the 2024 Paris Olympics has been the ever-enthusiastic Snoop Dogg, who is grabbing these Games by the horns. He's having fun with it, too.

Making appearances at nearly every event you can think of, the 17-time Grammy-nominated artist has embraced the spirit of the Olympics. There's no American team that seems to be off his radar, and everyone seems to love him for it.

That being said, Snoop's presence doesn't come without a price—and the man isn't cheap. 

Here's how much Snoop is getting paid for the Olympics, including an explanation of NBC's contract details for 2024 Paris broadcasts.

How much is Snoop Dogg getting paid for the Olympics?

New York-based venture capitalist Henry L. McNamara shared on social media that he overheard Snoop's daily Olympic salary from an NBC exec at dinner. The 52-year-old rapper is earning $500,000 a day, according to McNamara, which could exceed $8.5 million by the end of this year's Games.

NBC has yet to confirm this figure. For reference, the network's lead Olympic host and Sunday Night Football commentator Mike Tirico's yearly salary was around $10.5 million as of 2022.

Why is Snoop Dogg at the Olympics?

Snoop is one of NBC's special correspondents for this year's Games. So far, he's hung out with some of the biggest celebrities at the Olympics, including Michael Phelps, Megan Rapinoe, Simone Biles, Martha Stewart, Caeleb Dressel, and more. 

After joining Kevin Hart for a special on Peacock during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Snoop is riding solo this year. He has been exploring the city, visiting with athletes from as many sports as possible—he's attended beach volleyball, soccer, swimming, water polo, equestrian events, and more. 

Additionally, Snoop was a torch bearer in the 2024 Opening Ceremony, carrying the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis near the Stade de France.

How much does NBC pay to broadcast the Olympics?

NBC's current deal with the International Olympic Committee stretches through the 2032 Games. In 2011, the network agreed to a $4.38 billion contract with the IOC to broadcast the Olympics through 2020. Then, in May 2014, NBC agreed to a $7.75 billion contract extension to lengthen the deal by 12 years.
