Simone Biles has garnered plenty of praise for her leaping prowess. Such is life when your work day consists of Yurchenko double pikes, double-tucked backflips, and layouts galore.

Biles' willingness to take flight is among her most commendable traits. Whether it's on bars, beam, floor, or vault, any sort of Biles routine seems to feature at least one showcase of jaw-dropping verticality.

Take her epic floor showcase in the 2019 World Championships when she opted to defy the laws of gravity of a short spell, firing off a triple-twisting, double-tucked backflip that left her closer to the rafters than the round.

In a sport teeming with spring-legged dynamos, Biles is a cut above, but just where does her wondrous leap rank in the wider world of athletics? Could Biles rise over the NBA's tallest willows and come out unscathed? How would she fare in the high jump? Is she a box jump extraordinaire?

With that, here's the skinny on Biles' leaping exploits.

How high can Simone Biles jump?

Despite standing at just 4-foot-8, Biles is about as breathtaking a leaper as anyone in the world of sports. She doesn't jump. She flies. And when she lands, she tends to do so in a tempest in cheers.

When Biles leapt to the heavens during the U.S. Olympic trials' floor exercise, she racked up some serious air. In fact, she rose 12 feet into space.

No oxygen tank was needed for Biles when he descended from her flight. When she landed, she did so gracefully. In the process, she cleared a number of hurdles, some real, others imagined. Examples of those obstacles include Big League Chew, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and a variety of art pieces.

Perhaps Biles can't show off her leaping skillset at this year's Olympics. She certainly will give it her all, however,  one jump at a time. She'll just have to make sure she avoids the moon at all costs.

Easier said than done.
