World Junior Championship 2018: Lias Andersson tosses silver medal into crowd after loss image

After losing the World Junior Championship gold medal game to Canada 3-1, Sweden captain Lias Andersson wasn't very happy about settling for silver.

The 19-year-old, who was drafted seventh overall by the Rangers in June's NHL Draft, immediately removed his silver medal from his neck, skated toward the bench and tossed it into the KeyBank Center crowd. The lucky fan who caught Andersson's medal then removed two jerseys, revealing a Sweden uniform, and placed the medal around his neck.

After realizing what had happened, the largely pro-Canada crowd chanted for him to "throw it back." And after a few moments, the fan obliged and threw the medal back to Andersson.
