Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey was fined $8,467.74 for his hit on Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie, NHL Player Safety announced on Thursday.

With a little more than a minute left in Winnipeg's 3-1 win over the Capitals on Wednesday, Morrissey checked Oshie, who had the puck, in along the boards in the right corner of the Jets zone. After completing the check, Morrissey grabbed Oshie by the left arm and threw him down. No penalty was assessed on the play.
Oshie got up a few seconds later but was visibly shaken by the hit.
The Capitals were down 2-1 and had an empty net at the time of the hit. The Jets took advantage of an injured Oshie still on the ice as they stole a pass to Oshie that resulted in a goal for Kyle Connor.
This isn't Morrissey's first hearing with the Player Safety as he received a one-game suspension for a cross-check on Minnesota Wild forward Eric Staal in the first round of last year's playoffs. Because of that, Morrissey is considered a repeat offender.
Morrissey has one goal and eight points this season as the Jets are off to an 11-5-1 start.
As for Oshie, there has been no update on his status.
