The chances of making this save are slim to none.

Yet, Penguins goalie Matt Murray defied the odds and got his stick in the right spot to stop a Boone Jenner snapshot in Pittsburgh's Saturday night matchup with Columbus.

In the first period, with the Penguins trailing 1-0 on Jenner's 12th of the year, it appeared he had his second of the night off a no-look pass from David Savard. However, Murray stretched his body across the crease to get his stick blade — watch it flutter stopping the puck — in the path of the centerman's shot.

Murray's save may be a save of the year candidate but the netminder could not backstop the Penguins to a victory. The Blue Jackets won 4-1, as they battle for wild card spot with Montreal and Carolina and now sit two points behind Pittsburgh in the standings.
