Vince Dunn injury update: Blues defenseman out for Game 5 image

The Blues will continue to be without key defenseman Vince Dunn when they face the Sharks in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals Sunday.

Coach Craig Berube announced Saturday that Dunn will miss another game. He's considered day to day with an upper-body injury after leaving the first period of Wednesday's Game 3. According to stltoday.com, the belief is Dunn has concussion symptoms.

Dunn was injured when he was hit in the face by a puck off a shot from Brenden Dillon, and he didn't return to the 5-4 Blues loss. He also missed the Blues' 2-1 Game 4 win.

Stltoday.com notes that when Berube was asked Friday about the status of Dunn, he stopped halfway through saying Dunn was out of the hospital. He said: “He’s home and he’s just recovering. He’s day to day right now, that’s where it’s at. Other than that, I really don’t have much more information for you.”

Dunn, 22, had 12 goals and 23 assists during the regular season, and he added two goals and five assists in the playoffs before the injury.

The Blues tied the series at 2-2 Friday with Carl Gunnarsson replacing Dunn in the lineup. The two teans will face off Sunday at 3 p.m. ET in San Jose in Game 5.
