After walking through Germany and Switzerland in its first two games, the Team USA will look to make it three in a row on Saturday when it squares off against Austria at the World Junior Championship.
After a slow start in their last outing against Switzerland, the Americans netted five goals in the second period en route to a 7-1 victory. Six skaters tallied goals for the U.S. First-liner Carter Mazur netted two and added an assist in the win.

Star defensemen Luke Hughes added three assists in the win. The 2021 Devils draft pick leads the Americans with five points through two games, and after logging a team-high 21:18 of ice time, Hughes is quickly becoming the most reliable force for Team USA.
"I think just sticking to our game plan and getting pucks deep and getting shots through kind of broke them down in the second period," Hughes told reporters after the Switzerland game. "A lot of our offense came from that."
Austria will not only be looking to pull off the major upset but also getting its first win of the tournament. It dropped its first game of group play to Germany 4-2 and was blown out by Sweden on Friday.
