The 2016 MLB season is finished, but Canucks goalie Ryan Miller has a late submission for Web Gem of the Year.
Playing on a slightly more slippery surface, Miller made a sliding glove save and a beauty Thursday night against the Red Wings that would rival catches by baseball's best defensive wizards.

As the Canucks were pulling Miller in the game's waning minutes, the 36-year-old netminder, caught off guard as play suddenly shifted the other way, raced back to his crease. But before he could get there, Red Wings winger Henrik Zetterberg fired a shot at the empty net from behind the blue line.

Miller laid out, snatching the puck out of midair and the oxygen from Joe Louis Arena.

As it happens, Miller's heroics were for naught. He stopped 24 of 27 shots in Vancouver's 3-1 loss.
