A battle between the young cub and the old lion headlines Wednesday night's NHL action as Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers take on Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Wednesday night marks the first of two games this season between two of the league's brightest stars.
McDavid is off to another ripping start to the season posting 36 points in Edmonton's first 20 games. You can't look away when the 24-year-old is on the ice, as he has the ability to produce a highlight in the blink of an eye.

These days, Crosby has less of those types of highlights left in the tank, but he certainly has an appreciation of the skill McDavid possesses.
"You don't want to be on the other side of that if you're on the ice," Crosby told reporters when speaking of McDavid's highlight reel goals on Tuesday. "But I think you have a certain level of appreciation. That's fun to see, it's great for the game and it's great to see someone at that level, doing what he's doing."

After starting the season out due to a wrist injury and again missing some time with COVID-19, Crosby is slowly starting to find his form. The Cole Harbour native will ride into Wednesday's game on a three-game point streak. Crosby's little hot streak hasn't resulted in wins for the Pens however as Pittsburgh will roll into Edmonton on a two-game losing streak.
Can the Pens get back in the win column? Or will McDavid and the Oilers be inhospitable hosts?
