The Oilers and Kings kick off their first-round series tonight with Game 1 between the two Pacific Division foes.

It's the second consecutive year these two clubs meeting in the first round. The 2022 series was a thriller, as Edmonton stormed back from down 3-2 in the series to pull out a victory in seven games, capped off with a Game 7 game-winning goal by Connor McDavid.

Speaking of the superstar, the Oilers captain is coming off a sensational regular season. McDavid became just the sixth player to score at least 150 points and the fourth player in the salary cap era to score 60 goals, ending the year with 64 tallies and 153 points.

It's the third year in a row he is taking home the Art Ross Trophy for the most points in the league, and he'll also earn his first Rocket Richard for the most goals.

On the other side is a Kings team looking to avenge its first-round loss to the Oilers. Los Angeles put up the second-best regular season in franchise history, all while completely overhauling its goaltending tandem. The team is riding into the postseason on the backs of journeyman goaltender Pheonix Copley and deadline acquisition Joonas Korpisalo.
