It's an Original Six matchup on TNT tonight, as the Red Wings host the Blackhawks in Motor City.
Detroit is fighting to stay in the playoff race, but the losses of Tyler Bertuzzi, Oskar Sundqvist, Filip Hronek and Jakub Vrana at the deadline aren't going to make that easy. The Red Wings are six points out of a wild card spot in the East, however, there are four teams ahead of them in the standings.
Chicago, on the other hand, has been one of the worst teams in the league, with only Columbus behind the team in the standings.
Wednesday also marks the first national TV game for the Blackhawks without Patrick Kane. The former Chicago superstar is now in New York with the Rangers, looking to win a Stanley Cup with that crew.

Like the Blackhawks, the pair are in on the Connor Bedard sweepstakes as well. Entering play on Wednesday, the Canucks and Ducks rank sixth and seventh, respectively, in the Pacific Division. Only the Sharks, Blackhawks and Blue Jackets have a worst record than the Ducks in the league.
