Thanksgiving weekend is here, and hockey fans have plenty to be thankful for. At the top of the list is a slate of 14 games today, highlighted by the 2022 NHL Thanksgiving Showdown on TNT.
The NHL introduced the Thanksgiving Showdown back in 2011. It has been played every year with the exception of 2012 due to the lockout and in 2020 due to COVID-19 pushing back the start of the regular season.
This year's event features two games for the first time. In the afternoon, the Flyers and the Penguins will meet in Philly before the Lightning and Blues go head-to-head down in Florida.
