Matt Calvert can take a hit.
The ninth-year winger was flattened by Brent Burns immediately after feeding Nathan MacKinnon for the game-winning goal in the Avalanche's 4-3 win over the Sharks on Sunday night.
"if you're going to win hockey games, this time of year especially, you have to have an element of sacrifice to your game," Colorado head coach Jared Bednar told the media after the win. "I'm hoping he's OK and he'll be able to continue to play, but it's huge, it's what we want all our guys to do."
Aside from being somewhat shaken up, Calvert seemed to be fine after the tattooing. He stayed on the bench and didn't seem to need any extra medical attention.
The assist was his second of the postseason.
