Brad Marchand's tongue has gotten him into hot water for its tendency to find opponent's faces during the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs. On Monday, it was the topic of an attempted Internet joke by a Boston Bruins rival, but it was Marchand who got the last laugh.
It all began with a tweet from the Montreal Canadiens account, linking to a story about the dangers of licking golfs balls. It came a day after Marchand the Canadiens' rival Bruins were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Sans nommer personne, on rappelle qu'il est déconseillé de licher sur un terrain de golf également.

Without naming names, just a reminder that licking is frowned upon on the golf course as well.https://t.co/UOYGLsr013
Topical, timely, and a measured shot that required some thought on the social team from the Canadiens. But remember, folks, do not fling mud if you are in danger of having mud flung right back at you.
Funny...throwing shade when you were out of the playoff race since October

The NHL asked Marchand to keep his tongue to himself after he was seen licking Ryan Callahan during Game 4 of the Bruins series against the Lightning.

Marchand has made a habit of burning the Canadiens of late: he scored three goals in four games (all victories) against Montreal this season while recording six points. That included the overtime winner when these teams met for a final time March 3, and Marchand also netted the shootout winner a 4-3 victory at Bell Centre in January.
