Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas looks like a kid, and during Wednesday's opening night ceremonies, he was willing to act like one.
The 32-year-old GM was caught on camera filming Toronto's player introductions with his cell phone. Dubas focused on his prized offseason acquisition, John Tavares, who saluted the roaring, sold-out Scotiabank Arena crowd with his stick high in the air when introduced before the season-opener against the Montreal Canadiens.
Dubas did not display any external emotion or facial reaction, but it was clear this was an important moment for him, making sure to capture the festivities on his cell.
The youngest general manager in the league, Dubas replaced Hall of Famer Lou Lamoriello this past summer and immediately cemented his place in Maple Leafs history by signing Tavares, the prized free agent, to a seven-year, $77 million contract.
Dubas did not have the chance to enjoy the moment for too long, however, as the Canadiens recorded seven of the game's first eight shots and scored the season's first goal when Artturi Lehkonen beat Frederik Andersen at 9:34 of the first period.
His mood lightened quite a bit three minutes later when Toronto's Auston Matthews snapped a wicked power-play shot past Montreal's Carey Price to tie the score 1-1.

Dubas must have been downright beaming later in the evening when Matthews scored the overtime game-winner as the Maple Leafs edged the Canadiens 3-2.
Twice is nice.
