We are nearing the official end of the 2022-23 NHL season, and there is no more hardware to be handed out.
The recipient of the NHL's de facto MVP award — the Hart Memorial Trophy — was announced Monday night as a part of the 2023 NHL Awards ceremony in Nashville.

For the third consecutive season and fifth time in his career, Oilers star Connor McDavid was a finalist for the MVP. In addition to McDavid, Bruins sniper David Pastrnak and Panthers winger Matthew Tkachuk were the other two finalists. Neither had ever finished in the top-three of MVP voting prior to 2023.

McDavid is no stranger to the award. The Oilers superstar has two already on his award shelf, previously winning in 2017 and 2021, the latter which he won unanimously. He led the league in goals (64), assists (89) and points (153) this season.
David Pastrnak and Matthew Tkachuk were the other two finalists.
