Which NHL games are on TNT tonight? Teams, times, matchup for marquee Wednesday night hockey action image

Wednesday night means hockey on TNT, and while there is no doubleheader tonight, the single game on the network should be a good one as the Sabres host the Penguins in Buffalo.

The Penguins were one of the hottest teams to start the season, but have since cooled down. After a 4-0-1 start with the offense averaging over five goals per game, the team has dropped five in a row, failing to score more than one goal in three out of their last four contests. Most recently, Pittsburgh blew a 5-2 lead to the Bruins and lost in overtime.

Sidney Crosby's 11 points lead the team, but he has just one in the last four games. The captain is also a part of a three-way tie for the team lead in goals with five.

Meanwhile, the Sabres keep on rolling, building a 6-3-0 record thus far this season. The young core group in Buffalo has impressed early on, scoring 4.12 goals per game, the second-highest mark in the league.

Rasmus Dahlin is enjoying the early signs of a breakout season, as the defenseman has six goals and six assists through nine games, putting him in a tie with Tage Thompson for first on the team in points with 12. Thompson enters Wednesday coming off a career six-point night on Monday, potting a hat trick and adding three assists
