Hockey fans don't refer to him as the Rempire State Building for nothing.

The 2023-24 season has treated the Rangers quite well. New York earned home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs after winning the Presidents' Trophy for the best record in the league, finishing 55-23-4.

There's a number of factors that have played into the Rangers' success this season — Artemi Panarin's campaign, which should put him in the Hart conversation; the resurgence of Jonathan Quick early in the year; Alexis Lafreniere's breakout season.

But the biggest X-factor for the Rangers right now is the towering rookie they call Matt Rempe.

The New York forward wasted no time making a name for himself this season. His NHL debut came at the 2024 Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium, and he immediately introduced himself to the league by fighting Islanders veteran Matt Martin.

His chaos-filled debut was just a sign of things to come. Rempe has brought back an old-school style to 2024, throwing massive hits and dropping the gloves on a frequent basis. And the kid can play, as well. While he may be the last of a dying breed of enforcers, Rempe showed off his nose for the net during the team's first playoff game, opening the postseason scoring for New York in Game 1.

Rempe's game makes it impossible to miss him on the ice — both good and bad — but even if he had a more reserved style, it's hard not to see the behemoth donning the red, white and blue.

Just how tall is Rempe? The Sporting News has everything you need to know.

Who is the tallest player ever in the NHL?

Zdeno Chara takes the honor for tallest player ever to play in the NHL.

The former Bruins captain, who also played for the Senators, Islanders and Capitals, is listed at 6-9.
