It's no secret that Canadians love their hockey, but a recent crime in Manitoba stretches the bounds of that passion.

Police are looking for two men who stole cases of beer from a closed store in the town of Russell. The description for one man probably won't help — he was wearing a hockey goalie's uniform. The Ottawa Citizen reports the crook had a No. 17 jersey, trapper mitt, a blocker pad, and he carried a goalie stick, even as he fled the store with his stolen beer.

Realizing the absurdity of the crime, police are seeking anyone who has information about the theft, or who “has played against a goalie matching this description.”
