The Panthers are one win away from their first Stanley Cup Final berth since 1996.

Florida blanked Carolina 1-0 in Game 3 to build a commanding 3-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Final and put the Hurricanes on the brink of elimination.

Sam Reinhart's power-play goal in the second period was all the Panthers needed, as Sergei Bobrovsky turned in another sensational performance. The Florida goaltender stopped all 32 shots he faced Monday night to record his first career postseason shutout.

The Hurricanes are facing elimination for the first time in these playoffs. Carolina lost only three games combined in their first two series, but have dropped the first three games to the Panthers.

"We're not going to win four games tomorrow," Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour said on Tuesday. "We've got to try to win one, and it's really that simple."

If Carolina cannot get the win in Game 4 tonight, it would mark the third conference finals appearance in a row that the Hurricanes have been swept. The Canes lost in four games to the Penguins in 2009 and suffered a sweep at the hands of the Bruins in 2019.

Prediction: I'm waving the white flag. I've been incorrect about the Panthers in every single game of this series. They continue to prove me wrong, despite everything my gut, head and heart say. Do I actually think this Hurricanes team actually gets swept in the Eastern Conference Final? No, but I'm tired of being wrong so that's why I'm predicting Florida to complete the sweep tonight.
