Vegas is up 1-0 in the Western Conference Final thanks to Brett Howden.

The forward potted the game-winning goal 1:35 into overtime in Game 1 on Friday to give the Golden Knights a 4-3 victory and an early series lead over the Stars.

OT action did not last nearly as long as the extra periods of Hurricanes-Panthers Game 1, but it was another overtime contest in a 2023 postseason filled with them.

Dallas, coincidentally, has opened each of its playoff series with an overtime loss.
