Flyers defenceman Radko Gudas may hear from the NHL's Department of Player Safety after an incident that occured during the Flyers' tilt with the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night.

During the first period, both teams battled for position along the boards. That's where the situation escalated.

Gudas and Jets forward Mathieu Perreault began to battle outside of the play, but Perreault quickly became intertwined with Gudas' stick. As a result, Gudas' stick struck the 29-year-old center across the side of the head.

Gudas received a five minute major as well as a game misconduct, meaning he wouldn't return to the ice.

Winnipeg's matchup with the Flyers marked Perreault's first appearence since Oct. 14. Perreault has missed the last 12 games with a lower-body injury.

Gudas has been suspended numerous times throughout his six-year NHL career. In 2015, the 27-year-old was suspended for three games due to an iilegal check to the head of Mika Zibanejad. He was also suspended six games that year for a preseason hit on Boston's Austin Czarnik.

Gudas previously admitted that he feels that he's a target of the Department of Player Safety after the Czarnik hit.

“I think I was on the target (list) the last two seasons," Gudas said in October 2016. "I don’t think, for me, it changes me. I just have to be aware of these situations.”
