It took 14 rounds, but the Islanders outlasted the Ducks in a shootout on Tuesday night. The victory came with some late controversy.
Nick Leddy eventually netted the game-winner stick side high on Jonathan Bernier, one round after a disputed play.

In the 13th round, Thomas Hickey came awfully close to what seemed to be a push of Bernier into the net.

After a video review, it was determined that Hickey did not interfere with Bernier, much to the dismay of Bernier and the rest of the Ducks bench.
Leddy then finished it off for the Isles.

It was the longest shootout in Islanders history; more importantly, it was their first road victory of the 2016-17 season.
It wasn't quite the 20-round affair between the Panthers and Capitals of 2014, but it was long and winding nonetheless.
