You don't truly get to experience a Devils game until you hear the "You Suck" chants raining down from the crowd after a goal.
The Prudential Center, or "The Rock" as it's commonly known, is one of the more underrated hockey environments. Devils fans haven't had a ton to cheer about since making a run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2014, but that has since changed in 2022-23.
The goal song for the Devils has been around for a number of seasons, although it's not an easily recognizable tune for a casual fan.

So what is the Devils' goal tune? The Sporting News has details on New Jersey's goal song and its history.
What is the Devils goal song?
The Devils' goal song in the 2022-23 season is "Howl", by The Gaslight Anthem.
"Howl" has been the goal song for a number of years. The Devils went through a fan vote ahead of the 2015-16 season, and The Gaslight Anthem's song from 2012 was selected as the new score tune.
It's a fitting song with ties to New Jersey. The Gaslight Anthem hails from New Brunswick, N.J.
Devils goal song history
While "Howl" has been a staple at the Prudential Center for a number of seasons now, there were a number of changes to the New Jersey goal song before.
When the franchise first moved from Colorado to New Jersey, the goal song from the Colorado Rockies carried over with them. Gary Glitter's "Rock 'n' Roll Part 2", also known as the "Hey Song", was the first goal song used by the Devils.
That tune lasted for years, sticking with the organization through the 1980s and 1990s. Devils fans would throw in a "You Suck!" chant following the "Hey" in the song, which fit in perfectly with the beat.
However, in 2013, the team elected to make a change. With Glitter getting caught up in legal controversies, the Devils decided to switch the tune.
It took a couple of seasons for something to stick. New Jersey tried Bon Jovi's "This is Our House" in a 2013 preseason game, but was answered with boos from the crowd since Jon Bon Jovi is a Rangers fan.
The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" was tried in 2013-14, but it lasted just one season. The following season, Rich Andruska, a New Jersey native and songwriter, created "Devils Rule", a goal song specifically for the Devils, but did not last beyond the 2014-15 season.

"Howl" was then selected by the fans before the 2015-16 season, and has stuck ever since. Even in 2019-20 when the Devils again had a fan vote to decide a new song, "Howl" was voted to remain as the team's score tune.
'Howl’ lyrics
Hey wake it up!
Hey shake it out!
Does anything still move you since you're educated now?
And all grown up,
And travelled so well
Do you still hear the sound of the thunder, while you lie up by yourself?
Like you waited on his call and made your plans for great escapes
And there used to be a movement in the way your dress would wave
From your hips on down like electric through the ground (Aayyy)
Uh huh,
Uh huh (Aayyy)
Now do you blow it out,
Come Friday night?
See if you wanna, you can find me on the hood under the moonlight
Radio (radio),
Oh radio (oh radio)
Do you believe there's still some magic,
Left somewhere inside our souls?
Like I waited on your call and made my plans to share my name
And I love the country movement in the way your dress would wave
From your hips on down like electric through the ground (Aayyy)
Uh huh huh (Aayyy)
Uh huh huh (In this city by the sea that has always haunted me) Uh huh huh
And belonged to me somehow (Aayyy)
Bless your waters and your doubts
Bless your waters (Aayyy)
Bless your doubts
