When Connor Bedard began the 2023 World Junior Championship, he had eight career goals in the competition. Fast forward to now, and he has the most goals ever by a Canadian at the tournament.
With his opening goal in Canada's quarterfinal game vs. Slovakia, Bedard pushed his career World Juniors goal total to 15, breaking the record previously set by Jordan Eberle. He added another in overtime to send Canada to the semifinals, bringing his World Juniors total to 16.
The Canadian sniper already is up to eight goals and 13 points at the 2023 tournament. The 17-year-old phenom leads all skaters in both of those categories.

The consensus top pick in the 2023 NHL Draft has scored in four of Canada's five WJC games, including a hat trick against Germany.

Pavel Bure has the record with 27 during his three tournaments. Bure, Vladimir Ruzicka and Markus Naslund are the only players to record at least 20 goals in their World Junior careers.
