Canada is looking to repeat as gold medalists after defeating Finland last year in the final. The country is also eyeing its 28th gold medal at the event; it is guaranteed to earn its 52nd total medal.
Finland is out to avenge falling to the Canadians in 2021. The Finns earned the title in 2019, taking down Canada for the country's third gold medal.
The United States and Czechia will play at 8:20 a.m. ET Sunday in the bronze-medal game after losing their semifinal games.

This year's IIHF World Championship is taking place in Finland. There are two host cities for the 2022 tournament, Tampere and Helsinki.

How did Canada get to the gold-medal game?
Canada finished third in Group A in round-robin play with five wins and two losses. The team's lone defeats came to Germany and Switzerland, the only two teams to end up ahead of it in its group.
The team was nearly knocked out in the quarterfinals. It fell behind 3-0 to Sweden before storming back to tie the game and force overtime. Drake Batherson sent the Canadian squad to the semifinals with a power-play goal in the extra period.
Canada handled Czechia with relative ease in the semifinals in a 6-1 win.
Pierre-Luc Dubois, Dylan Cozens and Batherson all are averaging over a point per game during the tournament. Dubois leads the tournament with seven goals.
How did Finland get to the gold-medal game?
The Finns have been the best team of the tournament. They suffered just one loss in seven round-robin games, which came in overtime to Sweden.
Finland got by Slovakia 4-2 in the quarterfinals before edging out the United States 4-3 in the semifinals.
Jussi Olkinuora has been the best goaltender at the World Championship, with a stunning 0.86 goals-against average, .960 save percentage and four shutouts in nine games. Mikko Lehtonen leads the team with 10 points. Sakari Manninen is right behind him with nine.
