Andrew Shaw has shaken off his upper body pain in time to play Sunday when the Chicago Blackhawks face the Florida Panthers.
Fellow forward Bryan Bickell also is making progress in his recovery, coach Joel Quenneville told media members. However, Bickell will remain out with a lower-body injury.
Sunday's game in Chicago is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
Shaw missed two games after being hammered against the boards in last week's 4-3 loss to the Dallas Stars.
He didn't disclose his injury but said it was "just aggravating pain through the upper body. They figured they'd just give me a few nights off with this busy schedule coming up."
Joakim Nordstrom was assigned to AHL Rockford to make room for Shaw.
Bickell is nursing an injury to his left leg, CSNChicago reported. Sunday marked his first day back on the ice. He missed the past 10 games.
"It was good to see him out there but we'll get a better indication, I guess, [when he's] out there with everybody," Quenneville said.
Bickell, Shaw and Viktor Stalberg were on a strong third line last season.
