We are just a few weeks away from the main events of the holiday season, where the money will be flowing and the gifts will be given in excess. As we aim to end our year in style, we're after some profits on the ice, and tonight's NHL doubleheader on ESPN appears to have the oddsmakers in the giving spirit, with the Dallas Stars taking on the Washington Capitals in the early game before the Devils try to continue their hot streak in Seattle against the Kraken. As the activities ramp up, don't be the person who's giving out scratch-offs and gift cards this year.

Luckily for us, SuperDraft is prepared to fund our holiday shopping sprees to the point that we might even splurge for the expensive wrapping paper to throw away this year. Head on over there and get in on the action with us. After all, it's always important to spend time with the people you love, especially this time of year, and there's nothing we love more than cashing picks with all of you lovely readers out there.

SuperDraft users can win 3X the amount wagered if their two-legged player prop parlay hits. If all four of the props below hit, users will win 10x their entry. In other words, a $20 entry fee will yield a $200 payout. the more legs you add to your player prop parlay, the larger your potential payout becomes, but as the long odds indicate, completing a clean sweep is challenging.

Below, we'll break down four of our favorite player props for Thursday night's NHL slate. Users don't necessarily have to parlay all four picks together, though. Instead, you could make separate two-legged parlays to increase your win probability or attempt to hit it big if all four picks come through.

Best NHL prop bets today: SuperDraft player prop picks for Thursday

*10x potential payout if users parlay all four correct picks

1. Alexander Ovechkin, LW, Capitals vs. Stars — UNDER 3.5 shots on goal

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." We are going back to the well with another Ovi UNDER, backing his SOG prop to check in at three or less on Thursday night. It's a wager we've been confidently riding all season long, and one that has been a source of great profits on the ice. Because of that, we're going to keep going until the wheels fall off, but don't worry -- there is actually good reason to believe the streak will continue. The Stars defense has struggled as of late, but so has the Capitals offense. Ovechkin is basically the only show in town, and the opposition knows it, keying in on the Washington forward. Ovechkin no longer has running mate Nicklas Backstrom, and the team around him is declining. One of these teams will bounce back on Thursday night. Ovechkin has failed to clear this line in three of the last five. We believe it will be four of six after tonight.

2. Evgeny Kuznetsov, C, Capitals vs. Stars — UNDER 0.5 points

Kuznetsov was a surprise healthy scratch on Monday against the Coyotes, as HC Spencer Carberry tries to get the center back on track. Production has been an issue for Kuznetsov, recording just nine points in 19 games despite being utilized in all situations and a fixture in the top six forwards. He's coming into Thursday's game with a new outlook, hoping that a mental reset was just what he needed, saying Wednesday via NHL.com, "Play hockey better in every area,” Kuznetsov said. “It’s simple: Just play better and a lot of things will turn around. Kind of answer that way.” While the outlook is certainly a nice change of pace for a Capitals team that definitely needs more from the center, the on-ice results don't lie. While Kuznetsov wants to make a positive impact, you run the risk of him pressing too much rather than just letting the game come to him. Perhaps better days are ahead, but Washington needs to be better as a team and we need to see more from Kuznetsov before we start hammering OVERs. For a player who's failed to record a point in three straight and four of the past five, back another UNDER in the nation's capital.

3. Jack Hughes, C, Devils @ Kraken — OVER 4.5 shots on goal

From what could be a low-scoring game to what might end up being one of the highest, we turn the Hughes and the Devils high-flying offense. Scoring does not come at a premium when New Jersey is in action; rather, it's the goaltending and injuries that have derailed this squad. Hughes has played in eight games since returning from an upper-body injury and has been shooting the puck at will ever since. He's bested this line in seven of those games, including six straight. We're not talking about him just barely finding five SOG in those six games either. Hughes is averaging 7.2 SOG and a ridiculous 11.7 shot attempts per game during that six-game stretch. Considering the Devils' games feature plenty of scoring and speed, we have to back Hughes in a smash spot against a Seattle team that is allowing the seventh-most SOG per game to the position.

4. Oliver Bjorkstrand, RW, Kraken vs. Devils — OVER 3 shots on goal

Injuries have been a problem for the Kraken this season, and Bjorkstrand has answered the call to step up and continue to provide production in the absence of so many. In the past three, the forward is averaging 6.7 SOG and 13 shot attempts per game, hitting the OVER in each of those contests. That has coincided with a bump in ice time that's seen Bjorkstrand tick up toward 20 minutes as of late. That type of opportunity combined with a willingness to shoot the puck is a recipe for success in what could end up being a track meet in the Pacific Northwest on Thursday night.
