Stars goalie Ben Bishop left the Friday's season-opening loss to the Golden Knights after taking a shot to the mask in the third period.
The injury came while the Stars were up 1-0 early in the third period in Dallas when Vegas forward Reilly Smith fired a shot on net. The puck hit Bishop right in the cage of his mask.

Bishop, who was traded to the Stars from the Kings last May, was examined on the ice before leaving the game. He was replaced by Kari Lehtonen.
The Stars held the Golden Knights to just 22 shots on goal until that point in the contest, but James Neal scored the tying and go-ahead goals for the Golden Knights about seven minutes apart, the latter coming with 2:44 remaining to give Vegas it first win in franchise history.
After the 2-1 loss, Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said Bishop would fine.
Dallas' lone goal came from Tyler Seguin early in the second period.
